Hi Claire,<br><br>A charity limited company is a body corporate. I can't see why Ofcom would object to you transferring the license to a charity limited company, although best to check. <br>It's a bit silly they ask you to ask the CMA what the companies they license do ... they should know!<br>
It's like a lawyer asking you to contact the Citizen's Advice Bureau to find out what the law is... how unhelpful can you get?<br><br>If you want to set up charity to attract charitable funding, you can have that kind of arrangement, and use the company as a trading arm for the charity. There are advantages with VAT for charities too. <br>
<br>Most CMA members are limited companies, so I seem to remember, but some are charitable companies and some are CIC's. But Ofcom, of all organisations, should be able to give you that information!<br><br>Hope that helps,<br>
