the full public consultation on the Advertising Codes, BCAP’s
proposed change to the rules surrounding PCAS generated a significant
number of responses. In light of those responses, BCAP decided to consider
the issues relating to PCAS separately.<u></u><u></u></span></font></p>
<p style="margin-right: 0cm; margin-bottom: 11.25pt; margin-left: 0cm;"><font size="2" face="Arial"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">Most respondents to the 2009 consultation appear
to have misunderstood what was being proposed, believing that an outright
ban on the advertising of all PCAS in broadcast media was being
lifted. Holding this further consultation ensures respondents are able
to comment on the proposals in a fully informed way.<u></u><u></u></span></font></p>
