With Gordon Brown preparing to announce today that the UK general election will be held on 6 May, here is a reminder of the rules.<br>

Ofcom has published some limited amendments to its rules on Party<br>
Political and Referendum Broadcasts ("PPRB"). This includes a<br>
requirement that following digital switchover in Wales, Channel 4 should<br>
carry Plaid Cymru Party <span class="il">Election</span> Broadcasts at
General Elections.<br>
<br>
Detailed changes to PPRB Rules have been made and Guideline procedures<br>
for the determination of disputes under the PPRB Rules have also been<br>
published.<br>
