groups,societies and <br>associations<br><br><br>School of Everything seeks groups, societies and associations<br><br>The School of Everything is a website that helps you learn whatever,<br>whenever and wherever you want. From biology to beekeeping, history to<br>hula hoping – you don't need to go to the end of the earth to learn what<br>you want – it will help you find teachers and lessons near you.<br><br>One new development to the School of Everything is that it is expanding<br>the idea of tutors and learners to include self organised groups, clubs,<br>societies, associations, and along with other organisations like local<br>authorities, WEA, U3A – to include the voluntary, community and<br>statutory sectors along with the business community.<br><br>Learning isn’t just about one person teaching and others taking it all<br>in. Very often, it’s a shared experience, in a group of people who are<br>learning from and teaching one another at the
same time. Often these<br>groups don’t have, and wouldn’t want, an instructor. Poetry groups, for<br>example, work because all members are valued equally as constructive<br>critics of each other’s work; everyone learns from and mentors each<br>other. If you join a photographic society, you don’t expect to be<br>‘taught’ photography, though you do expect to benefit directly from<br>other members’ greater expertise.<br><br>Shared learning can be a very powerful thing. It’s also a good place to<br>go when you’re outgrowing your initial instructor-led learning, and want<br>to go further, perhaps in a new direction. Joining a group keeps you in<br>the learning loop, growing your knowledge in a supportive, informed<br>environment. Group learning can also be the mid-stage between being an<br>instructed learner and feeling confident enough to join the instructors<br>and start inspiring others.<br><br>To get your group or organisation’s
