The bill would expand low-power FM community radio across the country, dramatically increasing the public's access to the airwaves.</p><p><strong>That means that now--Today--is the time for you to express your support for community radio. <a href="http://www.freepress.net/lpfm">Call your Representative's office</a></strong> and ask to speak to the staff person who covers telecom issues. The <strong><a href="http://www.freepress.net/lpfm">LPFM Action Page</a></strong> will tell you where they stand on the bill. Then <strong><a href="http://www.freepress.net/lpfm">call your Senators too!</a></strong> </p><p>Either by phone or on voicemail, tell the Congressional staffer something like:</p><p style="margin-left: 40px; ">“I am a constituent of [Politician X] and I am calling to urge him/her to support the Local Community Radio Act, HR1147 and S592, which will expand local radio choices, and create new opportunities for local media in our community. Can I count on [Politician X] to help get this bill passed?”</p><p>Even if your Representative or Senator supports the bill, your call will remind them to make sure our bill gets decided this week. <strong>It only takes 5 minutes, so call now!</strong></p><p>Reclaim the Media, Prometheus Radio Project and other groups have been working together for years to expand community radio, and we are nearly there!. If you've ever made a call to a legislator backing community radio, please make one more today!
