It acts as a local notice board and provides opportunities for local people and organisations. A motivated and enthusiastic person is required for this new post to bring together younger and older generations of people who are Manchester residents. The post has been funded to tackle negative perceptions these groups have about each other by making radio programmes promoting the interests of both groups and the services available to them whilst encouraging discussion and debate. You will be part of a small and dynamic team at ALL FM. You will work with a wide range of community groups and individuals training them in radio production skills and building their confidence. You will be central to supporting intergenerational volunteer involvement at the station and to facilitating outside broadcasts and promotional road shows. You will be required to think on your feet, be positive in attitude and work creatively under pressure. Main Purpose of Job To produce intergenerational programmes, packages and adverts for ALL FM. To recruit and supervise volunteers to assist with delivery of the project, and provide ongoing support and advice as necessary. To develop and deliver a training programme for volunteers. To work creatively and imaginatively to realise the objectives of the Intergenerational Project, in a way that engages the target groups identified. To involve older people and younger people in decisions about project activity, and implement suggestions and respond to identified needs as appropriate. To monitor and evaluate the progress of the project towards achievement of outcomes/milestones identified, and report this as required to the Station Manager. To enable volunteers (including under-16 year olds) to actively participate in community radio; e.g., using production equipment, inputting and managing the play list, planning and presenting shows. To motivate the intergenerational volunteering team and develop reward/ recognition schemes e.g. award shows, newsletters to promote positive acknowledgment. To engage community groups, schools and other local organisations in the activities of ALL FM. To ensure all volunteers comply with health and safety/ volunteer rules/ disciplinary codes and regulations/ Ofcom broadcasting regulations. To co-ordinate volunteer meetings/ develop group work to help engage the volunteers and strengthen the station as a team. To undertake other duties as required which assist the Station Manager in delivering ALL FMs aims and objectives.
