The Connected Communities Innovation Fund has been launched by Nesta in
partnership with the Office for Civil Society, now part of the Department
for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).  This £4million fund aims to
increase social action which supports and works alongside public services.

The fund is interested in innovative ideas that can address social issues
within one of the below priorities:

• Community connections and thriving places
• Community resilience in emergencies
• Digital Innovation
• Improving our environment.

The fund is particularly interested in ideas that can encourage a wider
group of volunteers, particularly:

• Volunteering of people aged 50 and over
• Providing different levels of volunteering opportunities, e.g. high
commitment to lower commitment
• Using online technology to encourage involvement, or as a method to
volunteer.
