Good afternoon

I've been in contact with DEC and with Radiocentre who made the radio appeals. They advise that the radio appeal will be winding down shortly and stations might like to cease playing the appeals by this weekend.

We are arranging a meeting with DEC and Radiocentre next month to ensure that the CMA is contacted with regard to any subsequent campaigns and that we receive the audio for broadcast in a more timely fashion.

Thank you to all stations who played the DEC appeal which no doubt made a positive contribution to the campaign.

Best regards

Bill

Dear All

With reference to the/this DEC Appeal ….. you may recall about 12 months ago I asked a question re:- appeals like these (eg:- Syria / Somalia / Sudan plus general appeals for funds Oxfam / Save the Children / Red Cross etc etc etc I think I’m still awaiting a reply unless I blinked and missed it.

The question I asked was ‘’Do Sky get paid for running these?’’ you see and hear them all the time on the TV.

Me personally ----- I don’t want any money for them, I would be happy to run them for nothing, and in my opinion so should Sky and all the other Channels … but alas, maybe they do, so no accusations.

Could ‘we’ as a group (CMA) ask for copies of these appeals as they come out (maybe from Sky) so that we can play them. I’m sure if we each played just one an hour it would raise something for these poor people.

I also see them for Animals …. The same applies here. There’s a Donkey appeal going round at the moment.

Here’s where acting as an organised group via our top table we can make a difference …… I ask again, instead of discussion and e-mail back and forth can we take the Bull by the Horns and get on with it please ?

Bill …… could you make some enquiries ? if it comes from CMA HQ it will have some clout.

Thank you

Nick

Hi Nick

Yes, we have asked DEC for how long this appeal should run.

Many thanks and best regards

Can you keep us posted on this. We (Canalside) now have it on rotation. Should we (CMA) keep it running until we get the nod ?? I think it ought to be kept running until at least Mid-May.

I take it everyone is running this ?

Nick

A worthy cause. I have scheduled this to go out on WCR until further
notice. If you can let us know if/when the appeal is withdrawn.

Thanks
