Ian- Before making what seems to me to be a very unhelpful comment I would respectfully suggest that you read the guide that Diane and colleagues have put so much time into preparing and writing. Even a glance at the index and free chapters will give you an snswer to your question!

Would you mind telling all us ordinary folk out here what "increasing inclusion in news reporting" means?

The only way I know of increasing inclusion is to make the box bigger.

We’ve just uploaded an ebook ‘Everybody in’, which is free, practical and aimed at increasing inclusion in news reporting. It’s for courses, tutors/students to download and use.

It’s the first of the Broadcast Journalism Training Council’s publications, though edited by my colleague Bob Calver and I at BCU and Marcus Ryder (ex BBC now in China) and comes with endorsement from UK news employers (attached).
