There was a bit of tongue in cheek in my reply. On a serious note you could say we’re quite fortunate because the ideal temperature in a Studio for both Kit and Presenters is virtually bang on the noggin for us. If anything in winter it is slightly on the cool side. You will very rarely see any tweets / posts / facebook photos of our Presenters on-air wearing T-Shirts only ---- they always seem to have a Jumper / Cardigan / Fleece / Light weight Jacket 😊

We’re not breaking any rules (I don’t think?) it’s just that our unit is generally a cold hole.

It’s a fair size and has a false ceiling, however it was done by a bunch of Cowboys so above the false ceiling we have a complete void (it’s huge) the only heating we have in the joint in Winter is in the office itself. It has all been sealed and flat lights have been put in so that air can’t go up through them. The Sun does come round and straight in your eyes (a bit lower in Winter of course) and you feel a bit of heat through the glass.

In a nutshell though, the temperature in the whole place never really changes a great deal winter or summer, in studio, out of studio, no need for heating nor cooing air-con …….. I suppose we’re lucky.

Sometimes believe it or not it is warmer in here in winter than in summer ! work that one out ?????

On the Q T I think a few more would like some heating, but I wouldn’t want our volunteers becoming ‘’’nesh’’’ so we toughen em’ up 😊 LOL

It's worth noting Nick that the heat pumps in all the low cost split conditioners sold by CPC can be switched into reverse for heating, and have quite good coefficients - eg for about 3kW of heat into the room they consume only 900W or so of electrical power, so they can be quite cost effective for areas that sometime need cooling and sometimes heating. Of course, with that canal beside you, a water source heat pump could be just the ticket!

We work out of the old Clarence Mill in Bollington //// like a fridge in Summer and a freezer in the Winter. We're looking to install heating in the Studio not air con 😊 saves on bills I suppose. I just ask Presenters to turn up in six woolly jumpers

Air con in the studio is a must! We've installed two split air conditioners in two different studios and would never be without them.
Keeps the equipment and the presenter at a constant temperature - vital for top performance, and so easy to install. If you can use a spanner and a screwdriver, it's dead easy.

Purchased through CPC supplied by the air conditioning centre, less than
£500.00 and completely silent. You'll never regret it. Any advice - just contact me.
