Fair enough, I dont think weve got the requisite skills amongst our team
to risk it. It might be worth me asking the question though.
Cheers

Understood. I guess if it is to replace existing units it should be a
relatively low cost job as all the pipe and cable runs etc will already be
available, but I dont know how much its the sort of thing we would do
for ourselves rather than pay out plumbing rates!

Thanks Alex,
I should have said; I have an idea how much the units are. Its the
installation cost really.
We wont be fitting these ourselves.

Take a look in the CPC catalogue they have ranges of small aircon units
off-the shelf which will give you an idea of the hardware price (of course
youll have installation charges on top if you dont DIY). Typical small
split systems are in the £500-£1000 range.

Subject: [cma-l] Studio Air conditioning
Hi All,
Ive got an initial funding meeting on Wednesday and Ive been trying to get
a ball park figure for replacing the Air-conditioning units in our studios
as theyre well past their best and need renewing asap.
Ive put in a couple of quote requests to some local air-con suppliers but
they wont even give me an idea without coming to take a look
(understandable I guess) but theyre not able to visit site until after our
meeting.
I was wondering if anyone had air con installed in the last couple of years
and could give me an idea of cost. I know its not going to be accurate and
every building is different, but I just need an idea at this point.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Martyn
