We only have only a couple of A-roads within 30 miles of the station, and a couple of B-roads, and little traffic with no congestion whatever, but plenty of weather!

We rely on listener reports or contact from the police. We have a listener living at a critical junction 30 miles away who sends in an email to the breakfast show if there's snow or ice, plus the local courier deliveries driver who reports as he comes into the area from distribution depot early in the morning who lets us know how the road out of the area is looking!
