[cma-l] School for Social Entrepreneurs Offers Community Business Trade Up Programme (England-only)

Leaders of community businesses and community-focused social enterprises *in
England *can apply now to join the Community Business Trade Up Programme
which will start in January 2018.

Working in partnership with Power to Change, the School for Social
Entrepreneurs is offering a fully funded learning programme of 12 days
spread over six months and a grant of up to £10,000 to 100 community
businesses across England with the aim of helping them increase their sales
so that ‘their impact can become more sustainable’.

The programme is designed to help organisations create a robust foundation
and business model that works, creating the impact they want, and it will
cover the following:

   - Foundations - entrepreneurialism, impact and design thinking
   - Financial Management and Business Model
   - Sources of Funding
   - Marketing
   - Sales
   - Growing the organisation


To be eligible, applicants must:

   - Be a community business at an early stage that has already started.
   - Have plans to grow its trading (income from sales) by at least £10,000
   in the next year.
   - Be committed to, and working towards, the following:
   - Locally rooted.
   - Accountable to the local community.
   - Trading for the benefit of the local community.
   - Making a broad community.

The programme runs from *January 2018 to July 2018*. It will be delivered
in eight places across England: York, Liverpool, Midlands, East (Ipswich),
Hampshire (Winchester), London, Devon, and Cornwall.

The deadline for applications is *11 October 2017 (1pm)*.

However, groups that want help assessing whether or not they are eligible
will need to submit a short expression of interest form *before 1pm on 31
August 2017*.
