[cma-l] questions

Good point Brian ……………….in fact, lots of good points on this matter.

It digs up the original question I suppose regarding a similar situation with the BBC (which dare I say no one has yet answered for me or discussed) What exactly does ‘’’working with’’’ ? and/or ‘’’working alongside’’’ the BBC / Talking Newspaper mean ?

We’ve had a few responses regarding the broadcasting of TN …… I suppose yes it is a lottery as you may get some very good (readers/narrators) but you may get some not so good as well. When I was thinking about the broadcasting of //// I fully understand the arguments against, including those of the journalists and newspapers themselves ………. I was looking more of a delay (we have chatted with them before on this matter) in otherwords, if the paper comes out on a Wednesday, you don’t broadcast this until at least the following Monday (if that makes sense ?)

Another thing I have never been able to get my head around re:- news once news is out of the bag and in the public domain, folk can take it and dress it up however they want and spread the news ……… nobody owns it do they ??

Thank you for the responses, much appreciated

Just a word of caution here.

Talking Newspapers should get permission to record content from their local newspaper publisher. The content is generally provided to those registered as partially sighted on memory stick / CD / Cassette(?) - the point is the content is being provided to those who are unable to read/see a local newspaper through disability.

By 'broadcasting' the same content, this is being heard by those who could quite easily read the local paper and potentially deprive said newspaper of a sale. Not to mention the poor journalist who wrote the article, it could be considered borderline plagiarism.

As we know, many local newspapers are only to willing to work with community radio, just check with them first.
