Dear all,

*Citizen science & community radio*

I guess many of you are familiar with the notion of 'Citizen Science' where the public unertake some aspect of science - which usually involves at least measuring or counting something but possibly more including creating and test hypothesis.

I organise citizen science projects or facilitate them so that communities measure air pollution using standard laboratory equipment, mapping the pollution and hopefully doing something about it.

It's not difficult to run these projects and I think they could work well for community radio. The critical thing is that the projects are grounded in the community, and indeed like community radio build capacity.

If you'd like to know more about these citizen science projects then see:
http://www.cleanairuk.org or contact me via this list or at contact at cleanairuk.org

Best wishes,

Andrew
