[cma-l] Text Messages

I’m sure textlocal is a fine service, but I was bemused by the prominent strapline on the home page:

“100% free SMS text platform. Top-up texts for less than 5p”

Obviously there’s some part of “100% free” that I initially failed to understand!

We presently use a crude little Magic Messenger text receiving machine like this <https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B00068XRC4> on the desk, which is nice because people can text or phone us on the same number.

To start using a service that would pop up on the computer, which would be good, we ideally need to find a telecoms provider who can cheaply divert text calls to an alternative number while leaving voice calls to come through normally. I know you can do this on a mobile number, but I haven’t seen any obvious option on landlines.

Alex

Hi

We have been using text stuff from Radio Broadcast and now need another similar just this month, however Radio Broadcast have stopped supplying this service and we really need a text service which appears on the PC screen. Any advise or sign posting will be much appreciated.

Kind Regards
