How many people do you need to take your survey? Even if you’re a
statistician, determining sample size can be tough. To make it easy, try
this sample size calculator which gives you all you need to know to
calculate how many responses you need to be confident in your results.

For example, in a population of 25,000 to have a confidence level of 95% in
your survey with a 5% margin of error, a total of 379 responses would be
required.

The subject of audience street surveys came up at Saturday's excellent
Community Radio Networking Hub event at Gateway 97.8 in Basildon . The CMA
is collating and will publish best practice amongst stations on this issue.

With best regards
