I've been asked by Ofcom to make a small correction as to the length of test transmissions. The amended message is:

You may choose "Self Measurement" of your transmission system or give Ofcom the usual 20 working days notice and they will assign an engineer.
There is no charge for Commissioning by Ofcom for the first visit but a minimum fee of £180 can be charged for a return.
Some installers can commission for you during installation. This requires sophisticated equipment and can take up to three hours.Once your system is deemed compliant you are allowed a maximum of 28 days of Test Transmissions - but you may start full programme transmission immediately if you wish - or have only a few days on tests.Ofcom must be notified in advance of how many days you require so that the paperwork can be produced, including the Temporary Transmission Licence for which there is no fee.You will need to notify Ofcom of your Launch date when you start tests. You must launch no later that 28 days after you start tests and your 5-year Licence starts on your launch date.
Test transmissions need not be continuous but days must be sequential.Transmissions must be clearly branded as tests and the station name must be broadcast at least every hour.Transmissions may be live or recorded but may contain no advertisements or sponsor credits. You may however broadcast endorsements from supporters and potential sponsors and advertisers.
