[cma-l] Ofcom publishes statement on Chorley FM request to change key commitments

Ofcom has published a statement on a request by Chorley FM, which holds a
community radio licence for Chorley, Lancashire, to make changes to its key
commitments.

The radio station’s target community is young people and the lesbian, gay,
bisexual and transgender community of Chorley. It requested to change a
number of its programming commitments, social gain objectives and
accountability commitments.

Ofcom consulted on the request and concluded that the cumulative effect of
the changes was likely to affect the delivery of an appropriate service to
the stated target community and have a significant impact on the character
of service. As such, Ofcom has not approved Chorley FM’s proposed changes.
