Having checked on what Dan Gillmor has done in the recent past:https://twitter.com/dangillmorI don't see much relevance to Community Journalism in the UK."....UK races ahead in its quest to be a total surveillance state......" for example.

Cardiff University’s Centre for Community Journalism is delighted to announce a one-day ideas exchange, in partnership with Nesta, on the topic: ‘What next for community journalism and hyperlocal media?’

The event will take place on Wednesday 9 September 2015, at Cardiff University’s School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies, and is free for all to attend with lunch and refreshments included.

CCJ are also delighted to announce that the keynote speaker will be Dan Gillmor, Director of the Knight Center for Digital Entrepreneurship.

The day will bring together community journalists, academics, policy makers and technologists to explore the future of the sector, discuss solutions to common problems and showcase the latest innovations.

Although further event details are yet to be confirmed, the day is guaranteed to be enlightening, inspiring and underpinned by active participation.
