[cma-l] Station imaging

Being not very good at explaining myself chaps, this is kinda' what I was
trying to get at ..you would have a generic ident for ALL the Stations, and
then the same voice (maybe 1 female 1 male) would do the imager / sweeper
for each Station. I think Eddie got slightly the wrong end of the stick
and/or as I have said I didn't explain it very well.

The idea being that folk instantly know the Community Radio sound ....

You see, the thing with commercial radio is that not only are the playlists
the same, the general feeling is the same and the voices on the stations
sound as if they have all gone into the booth, had the electrode helmet
placed on their heads, received a ZAP or two and then come out with a middle
England, half Buckinghamshire accent with a tinge of London . as Eddie says,
same fits all ....... each of our Stations would STILL have its own identity
with its mix of characters and voices, so basically NO we wouldn't sound
the same, anything but. I don't think my suggestion is quite as daft as some
folk may think.

Of course if I had the ZAP treatment, even after 20,000 volts I would still
come out with my cloth cap in tact, maybe a bit singed round the edges and
my eeee-by-gum Northern twang, and I wouldn't change it for the World LOL

Regards

Nick

For a minute I thought you were going mad Nick!

But on reflection if a number of station's were to pool resources then I'm
sure an imaging company would be keen to create a core community radio
package?

Kind Regards

Alan

Dear All

I know it would never happen .. Well, I don't think it would, but wouldn't
it be absolutely fantastic if we ALL had the same imaging. Obviously the
wording in the sweepers / jingles / stabs etc would be different but the
sound / music / style the same. You could drive anywhere in the Country and
tune into the local Community Radio Station .. The most you here the ident
you automatically know it is Community Radio.

At the end of the day, we are a fraternity, we are a family ..... I'd be up
for it

Am I now off with the fairies heading for Noddyland or perhaps completely
gone doolally ? .... I am currently in a rocking chair sat on the front
patio with a sock on my head, two knitting needles in my ears and a piece of
straw hanging out of my mouth :-)

Hi

Can anyone suggest a good imaging production company they have used in the
past. I am aware of the 'usual suspects' so trying to find someone who is
innovative and different?
