[cma-l] Universities offering Year long internships in Media/Radio production

I wonder at the value of such courses.
The question that worries me is - how good and up-to-date are the people who are instructing?
It's the old adage I'm afraid that those who can - do - and those who can't - teach!
I can see a student spending a lot of time and money on a course - and coming away with knowledge and information that's of very little practical use in a career in real down-to-earth gritty broadcasting>
Please - show me I'm wrong?

Do you know of Universities courses, media, radio or music technologies, which as part of their
courses, ask student to find year long placements in Radio?

 

So far I have only come across the University of Huddersfield,
but if you know of any other courses and course leader please let me know.
