[cma-l] News and Traffic

I can't see the need for CR stations to carry SNR or any other national/international news on the hour any more - even for using it as a convenient hour closer.The reason usually offered is that people will tune away if there's no news.My counter to that would be that the CR audience neither wants nor needs news regularly.It can get it - if and when it needs it - all too easily from papers or TV.
It used to be a sign of professionalism if you were running a trial for a commercial service.But with the low quality of most syndicated news presentation now, I suggest that you're much better off without it.
