Wellcome Trust - The Arts AWARD
The Wellcome Trust is inviting organisations and individuals to apply
for funding through its Arts Awards.
The Arts Awards support projects that engage the public with biomedical
science through the arts including:
Dance
Drama
Performance arts
Visual arts, music
Film
Craft
Photography
Creative writing
Digital media.
Applications are invited for projects of up to £30,000 through their
small grants programme. The aim of the awards is to support arts
projects that reach new audiences which may not traditionally be
interested in science and provide new ways of thinking about the social,
cultural and ethical issues around contemporary science.
The next application deadline for small projects is the 7th November 2014.

Near Neighbours Programme Re-Opens for Applications (England)
The Department for Communities & Local Government has re-opened its Near
Neighbours small grants programme.
Launched in 2011 in partnership with the Church Urban Fund, Near
Neighbours provides small grants of between £250 and £5,000 to
grassroots groups and multi-faith communities. Funding will be available
to communities with significant religious diversity to help them run
projects which will bring about lasting benefits to their
neighbourhoods. Charities, religious organisations, Community Interest
Companies, social enterprises and groups of individuals focusing on
community benefit will be eligible to apply.
The programme operates in key areas within England. These are:
. Bury
. Rochdale
. Burnley
. Oldham
. Leeds
. Bradford
. Dewsbury
. Birmingham
. Wolverhampton
. Walsall
. Sandwell
. Dudley
. Leicester
. Nottingham
. Luton
. Some parts of London.
This is a rolling programme with no deadlines but the programme is due
to run until March 2016.
