The CHEST project - Collective enHanced Environment for Social Tasks - is
a new EU project that will focus on digital social innovation. The project
is launching a series of open calls with funding for local initiatives and
local partners. The programme is a test bed project aiming to stimulate
digital social innovation across the EU28.

*Overview:*
• The project has 2.5 million Euros to invest in both innovative ideas and
projects that can benefit society/European citizens, based on digital media
(websites, mobiles apps, etc).

• 6K Euros are available just for the submission of ideas that are well
received by the “crowd”, with up to 150K Euros being offered to the best
plans to develop them into working prototypes. The funding will cover up to
10% of the project costs. To ensure that this project funds as wide and
deserving selection of ideas and projects as possible, it is essential that
as many citizens as possible are made aware of this opportunity.

• The project aims to provide an opportunity for the people who know and
suffer from the issues that this project aims to address, to suggest
solutions for the issues that plague them, their communities and Europe in
general. Furthermore, people with relevant expertise are required to
determine the projects that deserve funding. In respect of the “ideas”
awards, anyone can score each idea submitted. For the larger awards, people
with a valid background in digital, social or innovation are invited to
apply for a role as a paid assessor.
