According to an article in The Independent last Friday...
"Ed Vaizey, the Communications minister, is expected to give an indication of the switchover date at the Go Digital Conference, which will take place at the BBC's New Broadcasting House on 16 December and be attended by major car manufacturers as well as radio industry figures."

The Chief Exec of RadioCentre (the commercial radio trade body) says she expects the chosen date to be in the first half of 2018.

The article doesn't mention community Radio at all, which is a pity given the article's somewhat misleading headline of: "Tuning out: Analogue radio to disappear by 2018"

Perhaps we should each write to Media Editor Alan Burrell who wrote it, and to editor of The Independent pointing out that analogue radio does not comprise on the BBC and commercial sectors. http://www.independent.co.uk/service/complaint-form-8289696.html
