1) Paul Hamlyn Foundation Education and Learning Programme (UK)

The Paul Hamlyn Foundation is currently accepting applications under its 
Education and Learning Open Grants Programme. In particular, the 
Foundation is looking to fund projects that address the themes of; 
tackling school exclusion and truancy, developing speaking and listening 
skills and supplementary education. Eligible organisations that can 
apply for funding include charities, local authorities individual 
pre-schools, schools, out-of-school clubs, supplementary schools, 
colleges and youth clubs. The costs that can be covered by the 
Foundation's grants include running costs such as staff salaries and 
overheads such as stationery, rent, rates and utilities.

2) Clore Poetry and Literature Awards (UK)

The Clore Duffield Foundation has announced that the sixth funding round 
under its £1 million programme to fund poetry and literature initiatives 
for children and young people across the UK is now open for applications.
Through the programme, schools, FE colleges, community groups, libraries 
and other arts/cultural organisations can apply for grants of between 
£1,000 and £10,000 to support participatory learning projects and 
programmes focused on literature, poetry and creative writing for under 
19s.

The closing date for applications is the 7th March 2014.

3) New Traineeships Scheme Launched (Scotland)

Organisations across Scotland are invited to apply for funding to host a 
Traineeship as part of a new scheme to help boost the careers of people 
interested in working in the arts, screen and creative industries. 
£10,000 is available to employ a person aged 20years – 30years to work 
full time in a paid new post, for one year. It's the intention that 
these opportunities will offer specific support and clear roles that 
will enhance Trainees’ employability and it's anticipated that up to 15 
Traineeships will be supported through the new scheme - part of Creative 
Scotland’s Youth Employment Programme.
The deadline for organisations to apply is 5pm on the 20th January 2014.
