*SSW, Lumsden, Aberdeenshire* – Scottish Sculpture Workshop is excited to
announce the launch of a new community radio station Goodman’s Croft – Radio
Lumsden. The *day long launch event* will run from *11am at Scottish
Sculpture Workshop*, with the opportunity to join in with activities. From
learning how to use the equipment to becoming a DJ, there is an opportunity
to learn new skills and contribute to the radio content. There will also be
other arts activities on offer and you can step into the Picture Show
Caravan for a selection of community radio-focused films. At *4pm *there
will be a* Children’s Disco at Lumsden Village Hall*, followed by *live
music at 7pm *by a number of bands from the local area.

Goodman’s Croft - Radio Lumsden aims to dig up and celebrate any unheard
voices of the Aberdeenshire community. Through the construction of a unique
mobile radio station, artist Rocca Gutteridge and radio consultant Craig
Priestley will explore how community radio can offer an important media
voice for an often dis-empowered conversation. This new station will run
live six days a week for the two weeks following the launch event, after
which it will be taken on by the local schools and community. All
programming will be available for download.

new work.
