Dear All

Is anyone aware of this ?? I don't quite understand it to be honest
?? the idea seems good enough, and I think there is room for
manouvre .. I also think that as a 'brother-hood' we should be sharing
programmes ...... Certainly (GENERIC & SPECIALIST GENRE) style programmes.

Are these guys part of the CMA ? or is it an opportunist pitch ?
''Advertising may be included and revenues shared'' Does
anyone know how this works ? who gets the money ? who collects it etc ?

As I have said ..... Programme sharing, so that stations don't have hours of
automation or presenterless shows is a MUST as far as I am concerned,
furthermore, this is your opportunity to stick in the adverts promoting the
CMA etc ........ Shows could be sent in 3 segments (no need for ads .) 6
segments if it is a two hour show, and then the stations playing the
(imported) programme, drop in their own ads and features / community
announcements.

Does anyone think there is room for this ? and should we have a hub
where we send the programmes ? do we ping them to the CMA
and then they ping them to everyone else .............. can you imagine
saying to Joe Bloggs who presents the 50's music show on YOUR station
every-week, that he is to do a 'two hour special' and it will be
networked, with a possible audience or FIVE HUNDERED THOUSAND ......... he
will possibly say ''wow-weeee, yippeeee, bloomin' marvellous'' THAT IS OF
COURSE after picking him up off the floor because he's just fainted !

Anyway, back to the crux of the matter ........ who is Mr Pick n' Mix ?
he didn't used to work at Woolworths did he ?

Lol

Regards

Nick

Subject: Call for entries for Pick and Mix

Pick and Mix is a podcast highlighting the best of community radio which
will be launched on 15th February 2011.

The hour long show will be available to download and also to play on your
community radio station.

Has there been a particularly heated debate, a sensitive interview or just a
great unsigned local band featured recently on your station?

If so, please send your segments of no longer than 10 minutes long (and no
more than 3 per station) to communityradioproductions at hotmail.co.uk. If you
have problems sending large files, send it via sendit.com

Advertising may be included on the show and the intention is the revenues
will be used to cover costs and then shared among the radio stations who
were featured in the podcast along with those who played it on their
station.

The deadline for submissions is 1/2/2011.

In the meantime, go to pick and mix's Facebook page for updates:
