[cma-l] CMA Jingle/Promo

Hi all,
I'd actually be happy for us to play a CMA promo on Ne1fm, and I think a
promo explaining how effective Community Radio is at reaching audiences etc
would be of benefit to all stations who are lookingfor
advertising/sponsorship and more involvement from their communities/local
council etc

Remember this could be akin to Galaxy(er, Capital) promo-ing their own
"advertise with us, we do x, y, z for you"

- Not that I'd want it to be based entirely around advertising (evil) but I
can see the benefits!

- I'm also wondering if there are other places a promo could be put/played
rather than just the Community stations that are willing? I'm racking my
brains here but i'm sure there's partnerships that could be persuaded to
play the promo (university RSL stations, local libraries? If a network
(however small) is put in place it could be much more than a promo for
Community Radio, played by Community Radio to Community Radio's existing
listeners!

Can I just ask why the CMA wants/needs a jingle? surely the idea of the
CMA is to represent us to the govening bodies not to promote itself to the
general public............

Did'nt we all get fed up not being paid for the Govenment info/vox pops,
only to promote another freebie.

?

Just my view of Course.

David just beat me too it!

I'm afraid I don't understand the reason for this, who is the audience for
this message? community radio station listeners? And if so what would be the
benefit to the CMA and the station from listeners hearing the message?

Hello,

As has been discussed a few times on this forum and at the CMA AGM, we are
looking to make a jingle/promo for the CMA and the sector in general. This
could then be used on as many community stations or by as many members as
would like to use it on air or on websites etc. This would be to enhance the
profile of the CMA.

A couple of questions:

What would you like it to say?

Would you play it?

Would other languages be needed?

All comments and ideas please!
