[cma-l] Community Radio and Internships for the Foundation Degree in Radio Production

Dear all

As you may be aware , Skillset have been discussing the development of a
Foundation Degree Internship in Radio Production for some time, to be
delivered at Birmingham City University

After some negotiation, it has been agreed that Interns will not be paid
during their time doing work experience as part of the degree (in line with
Government guidelines which make any such payment optional)

The BBC have now confirmed they will be engaging with the programme on this
basis , and Skillset is aiming for a Sept 11 intake of first students.

As there is no requirement to pay interns during their work experience, they
feel this could be an excellent opportunity for the engagement of community
radio personnel.  If you would like more information on the programme,
