Fiona O'Donnell (East Lothian, Labour):
To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport
if he will meet volunteers from East Coast FM to discuss community
radio licence availability.
Edward Vaizey (Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Culture,
Communications and Creative Industries), Business, Innovation and
Skills; Wantage, Conservative):
The licensing of community radio stations is a matter for Ofcom, who
operate independently of Government.
However, I would welcome the opportunity to hear from volunteers from
East Coast FM on this issue.
