The People’s Postcode Trust opened for applications on 11 October 2010.

The Trust funds projects with grants of £500 - £10,000. Its priorities are:

    * To prevent poverty, sickness and distress for the benefit of the public

    * To promote, maintain, improve and advance health

    * To advance citizenship or community development

    * To advance public participation in sport

    * To promote, improve and advance human rights, conflict
resolution or reconciliation

    * To promote and advance environmental protection or improvement.

There have been some changes to the criteria:

All projects must be for three months in duration, but organisations
will now have six months from the receipt of an award in which to
spend the funds.

The current deadline for projects over £2,000 is 5pm on Wednesday 10
November 2010, but applications for projects under £2,000 will now be
accepted on a rolling basis.

Applications are now open for Scotland and England. Applications have
opened in Wales for projects of £5,000 or under. If applying for an
England application, applications will now only be accepted from these
areas:

    * Yorkshire and the Humber
    * North East England
    * Liverpool and Merseyside
    * The Midlands
