MEDIA 2007 - Support for the Implementation of Pilot Projects (UK)
The European Union has announced that its “Media Development - Support 
for the implementation of Pilot Projects is now open to applications. 
Media is the EU’s main support programme for the European Audio-visual 
sector. Under this call for proposals independent European production 
companies can apply for funding to support the introduction and 
utilisation of information and communication technologies. The type of 
activities that can be supported include:

•	new ways of creating and distributing European audiovisual content
•	the use of web techniques to develop local Cinema Communities
•	the use of new technologies to widen and improve the access and the 
exploitation of structured information of European audiovisual content, etc.

The total budget available for this call for proposals is €1.5 million 
and there is no maximum limit to the grant that can be applied for. The 
closing date for applications is the 14th July 2010. For more

MEDIA 2007 - Support to Video on Demand and Digital Cinema Distribution 
(UK)
The European Union has announced that its “Media Programme – “Support to 
Video on Demand and Digital Cinema Distribution” scheme is now open to 
applications. Media is the EU’s main support programme for the European 
Audio-visual sector. Under this call for proposals independent European 
companies can apply for funding to support the creation and exploitation 
of catalogues of European works to be distributed digitally across 
borders to a wider audience and/or to cinema exhibitors. The type of 
activities that can be supported include, Video on Demand (VoD) service 
enabling individuals to select audiovisual works from a central server 
for viewing on a remote screen by streaming and/or downloading; and 
Digital Cinema Distribution (DCD of ‘Core Content’, i.e. feature films, 
TV films or series, shorts (fiction, animation and creative documentary) 
to cinemas for theatrical exploitation. The total budget available for 
this call for proposals is €7 million and there is no maximum limit to 
the grant that can be applied for.

The closing date for applications is the 21st June 2010. For more
