SkillSwap is an exciting project that will enable people in
businesses, community organisations and others in your area to connect
with each other informally to share skills, try new activities and,
above all, have fun! SkillSwap gives you the opportunity to show a
skill that you are particularly good at and the opportunity to try out
and learn something new from others.

Learning is vital to personal success and heath and wellbeing,
regardless of age, gender or background. Like all good habits learning
needs to be nurtured and practised for it to be sustained and valued.

Learning is not all about qualifications and sitting in a classroom,
but something that happens every day in hundreds of situations,
whether that be finding a new route to work, passing on a recipe to a
friend, taking part in a dance class at the village hall, watching a
flower demonstration, growing your own vegetables, or picking up DIY
hints and tips from a friend.

Activity such as these also contribute to the health and well-being of
communities by building the confidence and resilience of the
individuals involved. The social relationships that develop as a
result of informal learning can provide networks of support and
solidarity.
