Dear All
Below a message from Skillset re the new Diploma - some of you might be
interested in it.
"Further to the interest expressed at the Radio Skills Council, I have
some further information about the Level 3 National Diploma in Radio
The Level 3 Diploma in Radio has been developed from the refreshed
National Occupational Standards for Radio. The qualification provides
the opportunity for the learner to take a pick and mix of units or focus
on developing their role in Techical Production, Content Production,
Content Creation, Production, Research, Commercial Production or
Presentation. By taking this qualification, learners will be able to
demonstrate their ability to work at a professional standard in order to
add value and progress within the industry. The qualification can be
taken in a Further Education setting or in a work-based learning
setting, through the Train to Gain iniative. The qualification has been
developed by employers, for employers, and is flexible enough to be
tailored to the needs of the business.
Employers are able and encouraged to shape the learner's journey and by
doing so, will experience a great deal in return.
Employers could have funding to cover costs of training through a Train
to Gain contract or any similar future funding opportunities
If a learner is 16-18 they could get an education allowance.
Please do disseminate this information throughout your networks, and if
interested parties wish to initially contact me, I can direct to the
most appropriate contact within Skillset to pursue their enquiries
With best wishes
Matthew
