*Volunteer Management Programme (England)*

This is a £3 million programme to boost the support available to people
managing volunteers, the programme is part of a £6.6 million boost for
volunteering announced by the Office of the Third Sector. The programme will
include three key strands:



   - grant funded local projects to further increase the reach and quality
   of support for local people managing volunteers, especially through
   outreach;
   - work to raise the profile of volunteer management at a national level;
   and
   - bursaries to increase access to training relevant to the management and
   co-ordination of volunteers (from 2010).



In addition, grant recipients across the programme will be connected through
peer networking and evaluation components, this will enable the
identification and rapid dissemination of learning. Applications can be
