Dear all,

Cheery message from Ofcom, might be worth looking at some of them to use
as part of your training for volunteers and staff etc?

Best wishes

Jaqui

Publication of Investigations list on Ofcom's website
As you may be aware, last month Ofcom published its new procedures for
the handling of complaints about television and radio broadcasts. These
procedures were designed to make the complaints handling process
simpler, fairer and more transparent.
In the interests of transparency Ofcom has decided to publish a list of
all new broadcast investigations on its website. The list will be
published just below where we currently publish the audience complaint data.
This list will contain the transmission details of programmes that Ofcom
has decided to investigate. These details will remain up on the website
for four weeks or until the investigation is over, whichever is sooner.
The list will be updated weekly.
Please be assured that when publishing this information Ofcom will make
the following points absolutely clear:

* The start of an investigation by Ofcom does not mean the
broadcaster has done anything wrong.

* Not all investigations result in breaches of the Codes being
recorded.
The investigations list will first be published on 6 January 2010 (and
will list all investigations opened from 16 December 2009 onwards - the
date that the new procedures came into force), then every Wednesday at
10am thereafter.
If you have any queries please feel free to contact me.
Yours sincerely
Jane Leong
