Hello Dave,

When I worked for at-Bristol we had a TV Studio installed based on a Cat 5 network system and that worked perfectly.

The people who installed it were RGB Company, led by Max Whitby - http://www.rgbco.com/html/contact.htm

Max is still there but looking at their website now it seems like their work has completely changed direction. Might be worth you still contacting them though as he might know people that took on their installation work if they don't do it themselves anymore.

Let me know how you get on. I'd like to come up and visit your space sometime. Sounds like an interesting venture you are running.

All the best,

Subject: [cma-l] Request for advice on cabling a TV studio!

Hi
I wonder if anyone can help with the following:

I work for the City of York Council's community arts team and I'm currently working with Libraries and Heritage to set up a basic community media centre at the refurbished central library which opens in April 2010.

We will be using the flexible rooms at the library as a makeshift TV studio and an adjacent (or a room further away) as the gallery where the vision mixer will be. I've been told that the best way to connect/network the rooms is using Cat 5 cabling on a network?

Can anyone offer advice or know of any companies who specialise in this area?

I have a document which goes into detail the audio/video, vision mixer etc. equipment we are using, tech specs etc. and what we are hoping to achieve.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
