Dear Karl and all at 209radio

I am very sorry to hear this news. The difficulties you have faced 
are not unique, and you have done more than many to sound the warning 
bell that community radio in the UK is not in as good a shape 
financially as it should be, given its very evident benefit to communities.

Following so closely on the closure of Forest of Dean CR, this is 
another wake up call for the sector and for DCMS who, while throwing 
many millions into a highly speculative experiment in funding local 
news, are failing to provide the minimum resources needed to assure 
good community radio stations like 209radio are able to meet their 
core costs and overheads.
