[cma-l] Ofcom - Local Media Assessment Guidance

[CMA-L]

Ofcom has published a document setting out its approach to Local Media
Assessments.

The Office of Fair Trading’s (OFT) recently revised Merger Guidance,
states that in merger cases raising prima facie competition issues
that involve local media companies, the OFT will ask Ofcom to provide
a Local Media Assessment.

This document sets out what Ofcom will consider in such circumstances
and the process it will follow.

A Memorandum of Understanding between the Ofcom and the OFT has also
been published which sets out the working arrangements and describes
the relationship between Ofcom and the OFT in this area.
