Changes to funding arrangements for young people’s learning
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

>From April 2010 Learning Skills Councils will no longer exist and
funding for young people’s learning will move back to local
authorities. The National Association for Voluntary and Community
Action (NAVCA) has produced a paper outlining the what the third
sector, as an important provider of young people’s learning services,
needs to be aware of and what should be happening at national,
regional and sub-regional levels. See the NAVCA website for more
information:

iT4Communities Mentoring Project - voluntary sector projects required
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

iT4Communities is looking for voluntary sector organisations who would
like an iT4Communites volunteer to help with an IT project by building
or improving a website or database (other IT related projects are also
considered).

The project is funded by Nominet, and will be placing volunteers who
have an IT qualification but are looking to gain experience by
completing a project on a voluntary basis. The volunteer will be
supported by a more experienced mentor who will have several years IT
experience and knowledge of the community and voluntary sector. The
wider support network will also involve iT4Communities staff and a
network of consultants who will support the volunteer. There are
limited places so express your interest as soon as possible.

Organisations will also receive a small bursary to assist with travel expenses.

To find out more or to express an interest in taking part email or
call Anne Stafford, Programme Manager,
info at it4communities.org.uk,telephone 020 7796 2144, or see the website
