Communitybuilders seminars for potential applicants - England only

A series of one-day seminars is running for organisations interested
in applying to the Communitybuilders fund for multi-purpose community
organisations. The seminars begin on 28 September until 22 October in

Changes to Grants for the Arts application process

The Arts Council has announced changes to its application procedures
for its Grants for the Arts programme
(http://www.artscouncil.org.uk/funding/gfta2006.php). From 1 March
2010, applicants will be able to apply online.

It is also simplifying the information required for applications of
£10,000 or less by asking for a shorter proposal which will allow a
quicker decision to be made, within a six week period.

Grants for the Arts will be suspending new applications between 18
January and 26 February while the changes are implemented, although
decisions will continue to be made throughout the transition period.
The Arts Council is encouraging applicants who are thinking of
submitting an application during this time to submit earlier or later
than they were planning to ensure their applications can be assessed
in good time; applicants for £10,000 or less may find it is better to
submit their applications later and get a quicker decision using the

Collaboration and merger toolkits from the Charity Commission

Kerrygold Farmer Cooperative Award

The Irish dairy farmers’ co-operative who own Kerrygold Butter are
offering two awards of £1,000 each to the “most inspirational
community project group” and the “most inspirational young community
group”. You need to write 250 words about why your group should win.
