Unity Radio - Youth Engagement Officer. Full Time, offered initially
for 3 years (funded by BBC Children in Need). Salary in the region of
£20,000 – £23,000 p/a.

Unity Radio requires an experienced youth engagement officer to
provide activities for children and young people through a community
radio station working in disadvantaged areas of Greater Manchester.

Unity Radio (http://www.unityradio.fm), based in East Manchester, is a
youth Internet radio station about to establish a 24 hour FM presence
with our Ofcom Community Radio License.  Established to improve the
quality of life of young people within Greater Manchester - Unity
works with young people and uses its radio station to offer a platform
for young creative artistic talent to showcase their skills and
creativity. Unity Radio delivers an outreach workshop programme
region-wide that encourage Young People to develop self-confidence and
pride in their efforts and achievements. Funded by a range of Local
Authorities, the workshops use artistic genres including hip/hop and
urban and street culture, the workshops engage Young People at a
familiar level and help encourage and develop positive behaviour
towards each other and to their environment.

We are currently seeking an experienced and committed youth engagement
officer to coordinate the further development, organisation, promotion
and evaluation of all reach out activity undertaken under the Unity
Radio Brand.  You will have background in teaching and learning
support and/or engagement and community outreach and be able to
demonstrate experience  developing and delivering outreach programmes,
managing  funds and in evaluating the impact of engagement activity.
You will be a strong communicator, able to work independently and form
part of a small dedicated team.
