[cma-l] No to Product Placement - DCMS

Dear all

The Secretary of State for Culture Media & Sport announced yesterday 
that the government will not consider product placement as part of the 
revenue raising regime for commercial broadcasters.  This is in response 
to the EU Audio Visual Media Services Directive, which came into force 
in December 2007 and must be implemented by member states by December
