The purpose of these Seminars is to explore the practical methods that
are required in order to establish an appropriate and thriving
Community Media sector across London. By the end of the series we
envisage that we will be able to identify effective strategies that
will both establish and secure the future for London?s growing
Community Media sector.

We suggest that you check out some of the background material (links
listed below) which, we believe, will bring everybody "up to speed"
with the current state of play and allow us to focus on highlighting
possible solutions and a way forward.

IT'S 'THE OFF' FOR COMMUNITY RADIO IN LONDON!

The day following last Tuesday's seminar, Ofcom announced its call for
bids for CR licences for Greater London "within the M25" with a
deadline of September 15. This underlines the need to reach community
groups, form alliances, seek advice (legal, technical, financial) and
above all lobby to get increased political support for the sector. Our
seminar series was planned with these needs in mind, so book your
place now if you have not already done so. Contact Donald McTernan

Next meeting: Friday, 12 June, 2pm - 6pm hosted by Ofcom.
Sustainability: funding sources and a 'manifesto' draft. Riverside
House, 2a Southwark Bridge Road, London SE1 9HA.

Wednesday, 1 July, 2pm ? 6pm Ways forward for the future. Presenting a
