Foot in the Door at The Radio Festival
Monday 29th June, 2pm-5.30pm

Foot In The Door

Foot in the Door is a Radio Academy Masterclass with a difference –
the delegates set the agenda. The afternoon is broken into ten themed
rounds with delegates getting the chance to meet and question industry
insiders from Trent FM, BBC Radio Nottingham, Global Radio, BBC Radio
1, Somethin’ Else, and many more.

Just like in Speed-Dating, delegates will get 15 minutes to talk to
the individuals on each table before the klaxon sounds and they have
to move on (approx 2 speakers and 4-5 delegates per table).

There will be a break for coffee in the middle of the afternoon and
the Radio Festival proper will start that evening.

The day will be hosted by BBC Radio 5live’s Richard Bacon. Born in
1975 in Mansfield, he debuted in broadcasting as a roving reporter for
BBC Radio Nottingham in 1994. Richard has since worked widely in radio
and television including presenting drive-time shows on Capital FM and
Xfm.

Delegates: at the last Masterclass in Swindon, 83% of attending
delegates were involved with student radio, 11% with community radio,
and 3% with online radio.

Travelling to the venue: the Masterclass will be held in the Community
Hall at the Cathedral Church of St Barnabas, 6 College Street,
Nottingham, NG1 5AE (http://bit.ly/qYw39). There are a couple of
public car parks within walking distance. Please aim to arrive at the
venue 5 minutes in advance of the start of the afternoon.
