I write in support of Steve Buckley's initiative in drafting a letter
to Gordon Brown urging an  increase in the size of the Community Radio
Fund.  I urge all members and friends to sign up to the letter which,
in that it is coming direct from the sector, will add significant and
timely weight to the year round lobbying efforts of the CMA.

The letter is particularly significant as it draws attention to the
low level of the Community Radio Fund at a time when Ofcom is
separately conducting a review into the Community Radio Order.  This
review closes at the end of August and it is essential that government
recognise the importance of a realistic fund to support the roll out
of stations into the future.
