Youth volunteering organisation v is offering £10 million in grants to
generate 'enticing and imaginative' opportunities for 16-25 year olds
across England.

Part of a Match Fund programme, the aim is to create a new wave of
short term, full and part time opportunities which tap into young
peoples interests and challenge preconceptions of volunteering.

The organisation is also offering one day Innovation Workshops to help
charities with funding partnerships to create new programmes that will
make make volunteering more relevant and attractive to young people
whatever their background.

Constance Agyeman, head of Match Fund at v explained: "Being able to
double the funding of a new volunteering project is an amazing boost
for any programme. But to generate truly new and innovative
opportunities that appeal to a wider audience of 16 to 25's – funding
is only part of the picture.

"The Innovation Workshops aim to help charities make compelling
applications by better understanding v’s assessment priorities and
creating exciting new initiatives to produce high impact community
benefit and change young peoples lives".

Match Fund can double the budget of youth volunteering activities
ranging from local one-off projects to national high profile
programmes. Funding is available until February 2010.
