An opportunity not to miss!

Supporting the workforce in informal adult learning

NIACE has been funded by Becta to develop a programme to support the
informal adult learning (IAL) workforce. It is designed to help the
Informal Adult Learning workforce develop their capability to use
technology with learners. The term workforce is very broad and includes
volunteers and people in self organised learning groups. The project
aims to:

* Produce a series of resources and training materials to
support Informal Adult Learning workforce to develop their capability to
use technology

* Develop a pilot training programme which can be accessed
online by the sector

The pilot training programme will take place in January. The face to
face event will be in Leicester on 14th January 2010.

If you would like to participate in the training programme to test the
resources, experience the materials developed for the sector and help to
shape the final online programme - this is your chance!

What do you need to join the programme:

*	Availability to attend the face to face day in Leicester
*	A commitment after the face to face event for around 6 hours
self study (at home or at work on a broadband connection)
*	Some experience and knowledge of basic ICT skills
*	A favourite subject area you would like to develop resources in
*	Agreement to completion of the post training evaluation

What can you expect from the programme:

*	Improve your skills in using technology for your learners
*	Develop some new resources
*	Your expenses for attending the training programme
*	The opportunity to network with other members of the IAL
workforce

There are twenty places available on the programme. Please contact Sarah
